Role of seminal vesicle and the prostate gland

Seminal vesicles are the pair of glands present below the urinary bladder. It connects with vas deferens to form the ejaculatory duct. It releases seminal fluid which contains fructose and mineral ions like phosphorus and potassium. Fructose provides the nutrition to the sperms, and mineral ions help in increasing the motility of the sperms.

The prostate gland is a muscular gland. It propels the semen towards urethra and secrets enzymes which further increases the mobility of the sperm.
