The open window is a humorous and delving story of Mr. Framton Nuttel and Mrs. Sappleton. Mr. Nuttel has some fragile nerve and his doctor request him to do complete rest in a country spot.  Mrs. Sappleton was his acquaintance and offered her help if Nuttel comes here.

Nuttle came to the Sappletons home. A nearby fifteen-year teen girl Vera was sitting there in the home. She was a self-possessed girl. She Acquainted herself as Sappleton’s niece and asked to sit there.

After some silent moments, she pointed to the open window and said. You see it is October but still, this window is open. There was a tragic story behind this. Three years ago, her Aunt’s husband and brother went to the moor for a hunt. They all three got buried in the bog and never came back. Mrs. Sappleton think that all three will come so, she keep the window open until it is night.
