The eighth princess came to September and told September to put the little bird in prison else he will run away and will never come back.

1. In the following sentence elaborate the parts given in bold. Under the circumstances, it was a very unfortunate remark for the bird to make.

Answer: The process was under the influence of eighth princesses. They had told to keep the bird in a prison. The bird came late and even told that he was not even coming tonight. Here the circumstance was the situation the eight princesses made, and the unfortunate remark was of the bird that he was not even coming tonight. The remark was unfortunate because it aggravated the situation and September put him in the cage.

2. (i) What did Princess September do to ensure the safety of her pet?

She put the bird in the cage.

(ii) How did the bird react to it?

The bird reaction was ok if she did it to protect him. The bird requested September to do it only if she will open the cage in the morning.

Answer: (i) The bird was now free. He was able to walk over the green paddy fields, lakes and learn new songs from abroad.

(ii) The bird promised the princess that he will come every day. SO, the princess opened the window for the bird. Keeping the window open is good for health, so, the princess became very beautiful while her eight sisters became ugly.

6. The eight sisters kept their windows shut. How did it affect them?

A closed window has a harmful effect on health. As a result, all eight sisters became ugly.
